Period 1 - TIJ1O Exploring Technologies

Please emphasize that all previous work (items 1-3) must now be finished and ready for marking on Monday. Item #4 (summative report) is new today and will be what most students should be working on. Please remind them to rename this document before sharing it with me, and I expect to see it shared with me this morning so I can monitor the students' progress and provide feedback.

The priorities are:

  1. Finish Mousetrap Car SketchUp model. Ensure there are dimensions shown for all objects, that is drawn to scale, and that all objects are labelled.

  2. Mousetrap Car Assignment

    1. Photoshop Elements Masking Assignment:

      1. Create a "Technology-themed" title page.

      2. Create a 2nd one for a different class, using the name of the class as the text.

  3. Course Summative ReportNEW

At the end of class, please remind the students to log out of their computers and push in their chairs.

Period 2 - TGJ3M, TGJ4M Communications Technology

The priorities for the grade 11's are:

    1. Process Photowalk Pictures

      1. Hand in raw renamed 1024 pics

      2. tag in Picasa

      3. Process in Picasa, Photoshop, etc.

      4. Post to flickr (best photo, top 5)

  1. Peer projects (pick 2)

  2. Artist Profile

    1. Final Project

  3. 2nd Cool Tech assignment.

The grade 12's are working on their independent projects. Please remind them to update their journal and submit their progress at least weekly.

At the end of class, please remind the students to push in their chairs.

Note: please do not mark Drew R absent. He is on this class list but comes in period 4.

Period 3 - TEJ2O Computer Technology

Half the class will be working with the peer tutor on robotics. If finished the "triangle" activity, modify the program so it traverses a figure 8, ending up at the same spot.

The other half are to carry on with the activities in the Arduino workbook. The switch activity must be modified so that one switch flashes the LED at a low rate, the other switch at a medium rate, and both switches at a fast rate.

    1. If not already done, Finish theory portion of Petruzella 1-1 Safety Activity Pack (see link on daybook and in email). An updated resource has been emailed to the students.
